Tripnotes: Anniversary in the North Fork

During my brief hiatus, I was off celebrating my birthday and my boyfriend and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary (that’s right, I’m just an old basically married lady...). After sneaking out of work a little early on Friday, we headed out of the city and made it to the North Fork Table & Inn just in time for dinner. DSC_1269 We checked in to the Inn (4 rooms only, and the check-in desk doubles as the hostess stand.), freshened up and headed back downstairs for a romantic anniversary dinner.

The North Fork Table & Inn offers a 3 course tasting menu for dinner, or an a la carte option at the bar. The food is made using produce, meat and dairy sourced from local Long Island Farms. I was blown away by the quality of the food. DSC_1260 I had Veal (sorry, PETA) with asparagus risotto – it tasted like Spring! DSC_1262 The best part were the tasty desserts; homemade donuts with dipping sauces.

We slept like well-fed babies, and the next morning was more of the same. Waiting for us downstairs by the fireplace was an amazing breakfast spread; freshly squeezed OJ, a to-die-for skillet frittata and the crispiest bacon you’ve ever seen. DSC_1267 This put the continental breakfast at the Holiday Inn to shame.

A big thanks to the folks at The North Fork Table & Inn for making our anniversary and my birthday so special. We’ll be back!

DSC_1277 P.S. If you happen to be driving by this summer, make a pit stop at their Lunch Truck. DSC_1272 Parked out back, The Truck serves up lunch specials like Lobster Rolls and Pulled Pork Sandwiches. I’m looking forward to trying the Spicy Chicken Posole this summer. Best part? You can call ahead to order family sized frozen portions of their chili and soups to reheat for dinner!
