favela redux

I LOVE this idea!! Here is a typical Brazilian favela before...

And after enlisting the help of community members, here is what it looks like after...

During the month of work, the community members were given paychecks and an education, both things that people who call favelas home often lack.

The group responsible plans to raise enough money to paint neighboring favelas, creating an entire hillside of community driven art work. Cool, right?
