This is what I got in ma' bag!
I saw this on one of my favorite sites and I decided to be a copycat. These are my essentials. Glue sticks, Le Pen Pens my Kate Spade planner and school notebooks. Gloves because it's freezing and Vaseline in a tin because I cold weather gives me chapped lips.
I also cleaned up my desk and decided to show you what a clean desk looks like....

I call it organized chaos.
I love my bulletin boards! They look a little kooky and overwhelming in this picture
but I find them really inspirational.

urban camo

Just read a crazy article in the NY Times about young women in Japan who are taking self-defense into their own hands in an unconventional way. To ward off attackers, they wear
"vending-machine dresses" like the one shown above. If they are being chased, they can simply inflate their dresses and blend into their surroundings by looking like a vending machine.

Wow.

Does anyone know of any cool shops, restaurants etc. in Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo? Need recommendations!

wha happened?

It's officially Winter here in New York. We skipped over Autumn, which I am so bummed about. Autumn in New York can be so lovely....sadly, I'm already in the Ugg zone. Here are my essentials for this Winter:These Henri Bendel candles are so amazingly strong. They last forever and come in wintery scents likes Cinnamon and Firewood.
Uggs. I hate them. But I need them. I don't wear these to be fashionable...I wear them to be able to walk through the 12 inches of snow and not freeze my toes off. Don't hate.
My lips get so chapped in the dry winter months...Labello's medicated chapstick is the only thing that helps. Too bad the only place I've ever seen it or bought it is in Spain.

everyone stay warm!

glen baxter

Recently I happened upon a postcard book of cartoons by the artist Glen Baxter. I'd never heard of him before but I was delighted by his funny little drawings and outlandish captions. Very Royal Tennenbaums. The one I've posted above says : "I think you'll find thats my capuccino!" Snapped Eric somewhat petulantly" Loves it.

tres chic

Have you heard of these fabulous pens by Marvy? They're called "Le Pen" and I'm obsessed. Anie Enson turned me on to them and I've never looked back since. The best part is they're cheap at about $1.50 a pop. They come in every color of the rainbow and are excellent for doodling. Super retro and I love them so much...I'm blogging about them.
